Press Corporation plc and its group companies have reaffirmed their commitment to environmental sustainability with the launch of their ambitious group reforestation initiative, Press for Nature. The program, which aims to plant and nurture 20,000 trees, officially kicked off in Chikwawa with a large-scale tree planting event that brought together company representatives, community members, students, and key stakeholders.

The launch event saw hundreds of participants coming together to plant the first batch of trees, marking the beginning of a two-year sustainability program designed to combat deforestation, mitigate climate change, and promote a greener future. Recognizing the challenges of maintaining tree survival, Press Corporation plc has partnered with the Department of Forestry to conduct quarterly assessments, ensuring the trees are well taken care of. Schools and communities demonstrating exceptional stewardship of the planted trees will be rewarded for their efforts.

Speaking at the event, Press Corporation plc’s CEO, Ronald Mangani, highlighted the company’s long-term commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. “Press for Nature is more than just a tree-planting exercise—it is a commitment to protecting our environment and empowering communities to take an active role in conservation. This initiative is aligned with our broader vision of sustainability and creating lasting impact,” said Mangani.

The initiative is particularly crucial for Chikwawa, a district that has faced significant environmental challenges, including deforestation and land degradation.
